What’s the best way to see Zurich if you only have one day?
We recommend: take a walk through the Old Town, continue to Lake Zurich for a coffee by the water, and finish off with an S-Bahn ride up to the Uetliberg. That way, you’ll experience the city, the lake, and the mountains all in one day.
What’s typical Zurich food?
Many guests are surprised that Zurich has more to offer than just chocolate and cheese fondue. Popular choices include Zürcher Geschnetzeltes with rösti, or something sweet like a Luxemburgerli from Confiserie Sprüngli.
Can you start an excursion directly from the airport?
Absolutely! Some of our passengers head straight to the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen or to Lucerne. For those staying longer, it’s a great way to experience your first highlight before even checking into the hotel.
How far is it to Lake Zurich, actually?
From the airport, it’s only about 25 minutes by taxi to the lakeside. Perfect for getting some fresh air after your flight – and in summer, maybe even a quick dip in the water.
What makes Zurich special compared to other cities?
Many guests tell us: it’s the mix. Cosmopolitan yet relaxed, an international financial and cultural hub – and at the same time, small cafés, green parks, and a lake right in the middle of the city.
Do you have a personal insider tip?
Definitely! Many of us recommend the Waid lookout point, located above Zurich. From there you get an impressive view over the city, the lake, and – on a clear day – even the Alps. It’s the perfect place to pause for a moment and take in Zurich from above.
